Suck It Saban

'Bama Edges Houson

In what was envisioned as a cakewalk, that is why it was Alabama's Homecoming game, Bama holds on down the stretch to beat the Houston Cougars.

Bama bolted to an early first quarter lead of 23-0.  After the first quarter, Houston fought back to score 24 of the game's final 31 points.

Saban's highly touted conditioning program appears to be a disaster.  The Crimson Tide barely held on for the win.

Houston's Brandon Brinkley picked off 'Bama quarterback John Parker Wilson (everybody knows about individuals that go by three names and I don't need to discuss it here.  Ok, maybe I do -- John Wilkes Booth, John Wayne Gacy, Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray, and Mark David Chapman to name a few.) late in the fourth quarter. With 5 seconds left in the game, the Cougars drove to the Alabama 15 . Facing fourth-and-3, Cougar quarterback Case Keenum scrambled away from 'Bama's defensive pressure and threw a high arcing pass into a crowd on the left side of the end zone.

'Bama's Castille came down with the ball to preserve the win and was ambushed by teammates. The near disaster is further proof that Saban Sucks.
