1st BCS Poll Standings
LSU took a hit in the polls, but did not fall so bad in the first BCS poll of the season. Following their first loss of the season to Kentucky, LSU fell to 5th place in the AP poll and are 4th in the BCS standings.
The top five in the BCS are as follows:
Team BCS Average
Ohio State .9400
South Florida .9200
Boston College .8900
LSU .8400
Oklahoma .7600
Of the teams ahead of the LSU Tigers, South Florida appears to have the easiest schedule with only one ranked opponent on the docket -- #23 Cincinnati. Although South Florida does play Rutgers (snicker) this Thursday. The Scarlet Knights are a former top 10 (eyes rolling) team earlier in the season. Maybe they can bring back some magic from last year and give USF their first loss.
Ohio State must still survive the Big Ten schedule of Michigan State, a fiesty Penn State, a former top 10 Wisconsin, giant killer Illinois, and the quietest 5-2 team in the nation -- Michigan on the road. So things aren't beignets and cafe au lait for the top ranked team in the country.
Boston College has a couple of weeks to prepare for a road trip to take on #11 Virginia Tech, followed by a home date with Florida State, and a road trip to take on Clemson.
Of course they aren't handing out invitations to the BCS game. You have to earn the invitation and things have just gotten that more interesting in this crazy season.
