Pics of downtown Vegas - Fremont Street during the day and night in slideshow format

This set of pics is of Fremont Street in downtown Vegas. This section is just as famous as the Vegas strip.  It has been featured in many movies and was used as the backdrop in U2's I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For music video.

It's interesting to note that Fremont Street has been closed to traffic since the mid 90s. In the U2 video, you do see cars and motorcycles passing by on Fremont since that video was shot in 1987.

Fremont Street also has the nickname of Glitter Gulch.  In the pictures above you will see the famous neon cowboy, Vegas Vic, neon cowgirl, Vegas Vicky which originally had the name Sassy Sally, plus The Golden Nugget, Binion's Horseshoe, Sam Boyd's Fremont Hotel & Casino, Four Queens Hotel & Casino, Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, and Fitzgerald's.  

The Fremont Street Experience goes from Main to Fourth street. It's amazing to see all the lights at night. If you step out of the Plaza Hotel and Casino, located at S Main and Fremont, at night, your first instinct is to reach for your sunglasses.  Though this pic below doesn't give you the best idea

The lights are that intense. In the slideshow above you can see the stark difference of Fremont Street during the day using no lights and at night. There is also free live bands performing nightly at this outdoor mall. You can stroll this area with your favorite adult drink beverage in hand.

The free show of lights and sound - Viva Vision has the biggest screen in the world - 1,500 feet in length. Shows are nightly 6:30, 8, 9, 10, 11, and midnight. The show is different since they rotate the sequence, so you probably won't see the same show twice.

Each Casino is right next to each other and there isn't that long stroll between casinos like you have on the strip.
