History

The LSU Color Guard is an auxiliary unit of the LSU Band, this troupe was added to the Band to enhance the entertainment value of the LSU Band.

This group was introduced in 1971 as a flag twirling unit and they do perform some dance routines without flags.

The LSU Colorguard must qualify by audition in the spring.

They perform at all home football games and travel to away games with the full Tiger Band.
