The LSU Tiger Band is 325 members strong -- made up of 1 Drum Major, 16 Golden Girls, 26 Colorguard, 28 in the Drumline, 90 woodwinds, and 164 brass.

The Golden Band from Tiger Land are the model of goodwill ambassadors for the great state of Louisiana and for LSU.

In 1997 SEC Band Directors unanimously voted the LSU Tiger Marching Band the best marching band in the Southeastern Conference. The LSU Tiger Marching Band received in 2002 the Sudler Trophy -- the "Heisman Trophy" of college marching bands.

Louisiana legend Huey P. Long had a great admiration for the LSU Tiger Band. He even co-wrote some of the songs the band played at the time. Touchdown for LSU is his lasting musical legacy.
