History
The LSU Tiger Band was established in 1893 due in part to two student cadets Ruffin Pleasant who was director of the first edition of the Tiger Band (11 members strong) and Wylie Barrow. Barrow was captain of the new group on campus and Ruffin Pleasant later became governor of Louisiana.
